"Well, what woman doesn’t want to have a perfectly fitting beige coat of camel hair!" Antonio Marras
Antonio Marras was born in 1961 on the island of Sardinia in the family of the owner of a fabric store. He graduated from accounting courses to work in his father’s store.
Creates models since 1988. His debut collection entitled “Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte” (based on Robert Aldridge’s horror movie of the same name) scattered in two weeks. In 2005, he became Creative Director of Kenzo. Fashion critic Menkes wrote about him then that he was "like a wildflower against the background of other designers."
With his peculiar creative imagination and high craftsmanship, he creates clothes for romantic and sophisticated natures, who design their inner world to their appearance. Lyrical and elegant, strict and precise, with a slight irony of fashion. For men: a lot of knitwear, coats and parkas, sportswear. Handwork, attention to culture and a slight mischief are the secret of Antonio Marras' success.
His Milanese store is called Marras club - in it, among vintage trinkets and antique mirrors, not only clothes are presented, but everything that surrounds us - from cosmetics and jewelry to books and works of art. "The past times imprinted in objects and clothes are a sign of authenticity and originality," - says Antonio Marras.
He believes that "women are supreme beings."He is attracted to women with a bright personality, with character, slightly cynical, arrogant, not subdued, not sentimental. A personality and a peculiar devilish woman are the hallmark of smart women - and it gives them more power than money or status in society. In Russian women, he sees a special pensive, slightly sad, but bright and inspiring graceful beauty.
Antonio Marras claims that he never wanted to work in the fashion industry, but always dreamed of a movie. His fashion shows are reminiscent of mini-performances or theatrical shows. Two maids in the evenings try on the elegant outfits of their mistress ... A kaleidoscope of things surrounding the Italian singer Milli ... A collection inspired by the old door in Prague ...
