When I was a little girl, my grandmother gave me a blanket made of shreds. Each time I took it in my hands and studied it intently, I asked only one question - how?
Choosing a winner and prize-winners this time proved to be very difficult. The presented works are executed with high accuracy and craftsmanship. Prizes will be awarded to winners from Moscow and the Moscow Region in Moscow on April 11 and 12 at the QUILTFEST exhibition-festival at the BURDA stand. The blanket of incredible beauty with the romantic name "Roses in the Garden" is made of cotton shreds with a machine stitch using the "kaleidoscope" technique. The size of the blanket is 180x205 cm. The execution time is 3 weeks. Natalia was carried away with this interesting hobby almost 5 years ago. She comprehended the basics of patchwork on her own on books and on the Internet. Natalia continues to study today, and to discover new secrets of mastery of this amazing hobby.
Winners of the "Patchwork on burdastyle" contest:
1. Cover with the cheerful name "Positive Glade" fromOlga (OLESHIK): //burdastyle.ru/fotoforum/pechwork/pozitivnaya-polyanka-38523/, size 180x200 cm - this is completely handmade. All "details" of the product are hand-sewn, not a single machine seam! 1677 templates with a diameter of 6 cm in two and a half months of hard work turned into such a wonderful product. This technique of hand stitching among the patchwork is called "Grandma’s Garden". Needlework for Olga - a "disease" since childhood. She sews, knits.Addicted to patchwork in 2012. Next were the Teddy Bears.
2. Costume "Young lady" Catherine (Katti CROW) made of shreds of cotton fabric in the patchwork style: //burdastyle.ru/fotoforum/pechwork/baryshnya-38639/. The following techniques were used in the work: "geese", "smalt", sewing from stripes and triangles, "arable land" and "diamond". Catherine has been sewing since childhood. Engaged in patchwork since 2008. He likes to use patchwork technique in clothes.

The progenitor of this coat was the model of the eminent designer, Ralph Lauren, which became an inspiration for Svetlana. But everything happened in the fabric store, where Svetlana went to buy something on her coat. A whole series of tweed appeared before her gaze. In order not to torment herself with a choice, Svetlana asked the amazed sellers to cut 10 cm of each fabric for her. This was followed by the process of drawing patterns, of which there were many, so that the collar was huge, and so that it could smell, and so that the sleeve was read, and not be a whole. And finally, picking up shreds in a canvas, and sewing a coat.
4. Beautiful and delicate bedspread "Vintage" with an original pattern fromOlga Taranova: //burdastyle.ru/fotoforum/pechwork/pokryvalo-vintazh-38743/. The bedspreads are of impressive size - 220x200 cm. The work in the style of a traditional patchwork is done using the free-running stitch technique on a typewriter, and is edged manually. Volumetric elements are made using the trapunto technique. Olga has been engaged in patchwork for about 5 years. He devotes all his free time to his favorite patchwork!
