After all, sewing was always nearby in my life, my mother sewed us Halloween costumes, for example, in my college roommate in college, sitting on the floor, sewed things, since she was a member of a clothing design club. My husband’s aunt sewed some incredible skirt for our wedding, everyone sewed, but it was other people, not me! I was too busy with my studies and career to find time for creative undertakings ...
Then my husband and I moved to New York. We tried to build a new life. I worked 80 hours a week, and despite the fact that there was no time left for anything else, I began to feel that something important was missing in my life. One night, for several hours, I unsuccessfully searched the Internet for a perfect blue-and-white sundress with ruffles. There was no ideal, but for what I could find,I would have to go to the other end of the city, and then change it ... And then an insight came to me. I can just do it myself! In less than a day, I was in a lesson on the use of a sewing machine.
For the first time in my life I had a hobby that I love so much! Of course, I had not the most successful things. But this is the first thing I do specifically and only for myself. Not to get an assessment, not to add a line to the resume!
I found so much joy and meaning in this work! This brought balance to my life, gave me a passion that I had no idea about, and introduced me to a bunch of interesting people. And, in the end, it gave me the wardrobe I want! "
