Life hack, which will help if the blanket in the duvet cover gets off.

If the blanket tucked into the duvet cover gets off during use, you can fix the corners with special linen pins. It is assumed that these pins will hold the blanket firmly and will not be unfastened, but experience has shown that they can nevertheless unfasten - you must admit, in the case of a bed this is very unpleasant, and maybe even dangerous. A life hack with ties, of course, is a little more difficult to implement than pinning corners with pins, but this method is definitely safe. The ties are sewn to the corners of the blanket and to the corners of the duvet cover inside and hold the blanket in place.

As ties, you can use ribbons sewn from fabric or a ready-made oblique edging, or take a ribbon or braid, preferably non-slip, so that the knots hold better.

3 types of pillowcase clasps

You will need:

- fabric, inlay or braid for ties (2 m for a blanket and 2 m for one duvet cover);

- scissors for fabric;

- needle for hand sewing;

- sewing machine and thread.

Life hack: how to sew a perfectly fitting pillowcase on a pillow

Step 1

If you sew the ties yourself, cut out strips of 3.5 cm wide from the fabric. You need 4 ties for the blanket and 4 ties for each duvet cover. The length of each tie is 50 cm. Fold the stripes four times, like an oblique trim, iron and sew, departing from the edge of the fold 1−2 mm.

If you have a finished braid, it is enough to cut it into pieces of 50 cm, if the edges are crumbled, process it.

Step 2

Turn the duvet cover inside out. Find the middle of the ribbon and stitch it firmly in this place to the corner of the duvet cover, as if making a fastener. Repeat in the remaining three corners.

Step 3

If the edges of the blanket are thick, it is better to sew the ties to its corners manually. If not very thick, you can do it by car, as in the step above. Sew so tight to all four corners.

Step 4

Now, hiding the blanket in the duvet cover, you need to combine the corners and tie the ribbons. The blanket will hold in place.
