An unnecessary sweatshirt, sweatshirt or hoodie turns into sports pants for the child.
For this project you need a big enough sweatshirt. Her sleeves will turn into trouser legs. Pants suitable for the child are used as a template. When working with knitwear on a sewing machine, use a special needle.

How to lengthen trousers or remake shorts into trousers: a master class
Step 1
Ready pants, in the likeness of which new ones will be sewn, turn inside out and fold, as shown in the photo.
Step 2
Spread the sweatshirt so that the bottom fold passes exactly along the seam of the sleeve and the seams of the armhole match.
Step 3
Lay out the finished trousers on top of the sleeve. Align the side seam with the top fold of the sweatshirt sleeve. Pants elastic - with sleeve elastic. Circle the finished trousers with a marker in the middle seam.
Step 4
At this step you will need an assistant. You need to stretch the elastic of the finished trousers to use them as a template. With an aqua marker, draw the front and back waist lines parallel to how they go on the finished pants. In the photo below, line 1 corresponds to the front, 2 to the back.At the same time, draw lines 3-4 cm higher for the drawstring under the elastic.
Add allowances: 1 cm for the middle seam and 2 cm for the belt.
Step 5
Trim the future leg along the line of the middle seam and along the waistline of the back.
Now trim the front of the trousers as shown in the photo (cut about 1 cm along the line of the step seam).
Step 5
Cut the second leg mirror first, using it as a template.
Step 6
Turn one of the legs inside out and put a second leg in it. Align and pin the edges together.
Complete the middle seam.
Step 7
Turn the trousers inside out. Flatten the middle seam. Fold the top edge and make a drawstring. Pass the elastic and sew the hole. Here, a loop of colored braid is sewn into the backstage - this was done so that it would be easier for the child to navigate when putting on trousers.
